One Step Healthier

So my mother (Betty) and I were brainstorming food and health-related ideas regarding how to help people move beyond the initial excitement of a new diet to a sustainable lifestyle. Betty came up with 'One Step Healthier' and we realized that concept could apply to anything. For example, you order the enchiladas at your favorite Tex-Mex dive and request 'no cheese' - you've made a choice One Step Healthier. You cook your families favorite casserole, but you mix in an extra diced vegetable - you are One Step Healthier. You go for a walk and and stop half way to enjoy the scenery -One Step Healthier. The following blog series will explore this concept, using what we have both learned about health and food to examine how simple, easy-to-take choices can change our health and increase our enjoyment of life.
